I had the great good fortune to spend a couple of days in meetings in Strasbourg recently. A very beautiful city to visit - compact old, very old. and also very new. The European Court of Human Rights sits on one of the many waterways through the city - looking, it has to be said, like a badly stacked drum kit. Look at these pictures for a classically Strasbourg contrast.
The age old waterways - once a very thriving trade route and the Court responsible for moving forward the protection of Human Rights - and before anyone complains about the interference of that Court ask yourself which of your human rights do you not want protected?
